About RC Football

RC Football is a free web app built for amateur flag football coaches who want professional-grade tools without the pro-grade price tag. Design plays, manage your roster, build full playbooks, and export everything to Google Drive, all from your browser.

What You Can Do

Play Designer Canvas

Drag-and-drop players onto a football field, draw routes, add assignments, and build any formation you need, on offense or defense.

AI Play Generation

Describe a concept in plain language and let the AI generate a play for you. You can also sketch a diagram and have it interpreted automatically.

Team Management

Create multiple teams, manage rosters, organize coaching staff, and build squad splits for practice groups, all in one place.

Playbook Organization

Group plays into playbooks, add section dividers, and keep your game plan structured and easy to share with your coaching staff.

Google Drive Export

Export your playbook as a Google Doc or Slides presentation. Choose handout or presentation format, control how many plays appear per page, and use printer-friendly mode to save ink.

Free to Start

RC Football is free to start for coaches at every level. Design and generate plays with no card up front. Paid plans unlock heavier usage and advanced features as you grow.

Who built it

RC Football is built by Ray Carroll, a youth flag football coach in the San Francisco Bay Area. Ray coaches 5v5 flag from kindergarten through 7th grade, with Next Level Flag Football in San Mateo and in the Friday Night Lights league run by San Carlos Parks and Recreation. He also serves on the board of San Carlos Little League.

He built RC Football because he needed it. Motivating a team, organizing it and teaching it the right skills takes good tools, and the play designers coaches were using were old, slow and built a decade ago. He wanted something fresh and modern that a first-year parent volunteer and a veteran coach would both enjoy.

The coaching resources come from a loss. Ray’s third-grade team went undefeated, then lost in the first round of the playoffs to a team that ran nothing but RPOs. His players had never seen one, and he counts that as his mistake, not theirs. The play pages, defense guides and drills on this site are there so other coaches see that moment coming.

RC Football started as an experiment in January 2026 and relaunched in August 2026 after early feedback from coaches.

Built by a Coach, for Coaches

Ray built RC Football to give amateur flag football coaches the same kind of tools that pro coaching staffs take for granted. If you have feedback, a feature request, or just want to say hi, we'd love to hear from you.
