Use RC Football on your phone

RC Football runs in the phone browser and installs to the home screen on both iPhone and Android. There is no app to download from an app store.

Steps

  1. 1

Open the site in your phone browser

Go to rc-football.com in Safari on an iPhone or Chrome on Android. The designer, the play library, the drill library and the practice planner all work on a phone with no account.

  2. 2

Add it to your home screen on iPhone

In Safari, tap the Share button, scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen. It then opens full screen with its own icon, the same as any other app on the phone.

  3. 3

Add it to your home screen on Android

In Chrome, tap the three-dot menu and choose Install app or Add to Home screen. Android usually offers this by itself after a visit or two.

  4. 4

    Use it on the field

The coach view is built for a phone held in one hand: your playbook, the practice timer and the whistle. Shared play links open on a phone for anyone, with no account.

What it costs

Free. Installing to the home screen costs nothing, there is no app store purchase, and every plan works the same on a phone as in a desktop browser.

Things worth knowing

  • There is no native iPhone or Android app in the App Store or on Google Play today. This is a web app that installs, which is why you add it from the browser rather than from a store.
  • Drawing a play by dragging works on a touch screen, and a route line can be bent by dragging it. On a small screen, describing the play in words and letting the AI draw it is usually faster than dragging.
  • Voice input works on a phone, so you can say the change rather than typing it.
  • Once installed it keeps you signed in, so you are not logging in on a sideline.

Questions

Is there an RC Football app for iPhone or Android?

There is no native app in the App Store or Google Play. RC Football is a web app that installs to your home screen from the browser on both iPhone and Android, which gives you the icon and the full-screen view without an app store download.

What is the best way to draw up a football play on my phone?

Open the designer in your phone browser and describe the play in plain English, then adjust by dragging. On a phone, describing a play is usually faster than drawing it from scratch, and you can bend any route afterwards by dragging the line.

Does it work without a signal on the field?

Partly. Pages you have already opened are cached and the practice timer runs offline, but saving a new play, generating one with AI and loading something you have not opened before all need a connection.
